When Brad Marchand decided to set sail for the Florida Panthers after 16 seasons with the Boston Bruins, it caught a lot of people off guard. It was quite a bit to absorb, and there are plenty of whispers going around that now that Marchand is playing for Florida, he and his family might just pack up and move there, leaving behind their $3.5 million home in Boston. But that wasn’t how it turned out! Katrina Marchand, his wife, shared, “For everyone asking… This is a renovation project of ours not our personal home ❤️ Fun before & afters coming soon 🏡.”

So, this happened after Brad’s IG story, where he said, “Huge congrats to @kasloane @kbmliving for completing her first renovation project! So proud of you !!!” Katrina really put in the effort by listing a $1.79 million real estate property. Even though a lot of people believed they were putting their own house up for sale, that wasn’t exactly what was happening!

After a thrilling Round 2 Game 3 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Marchand shared his thoughts on his new NHL team. “It’s awesome. I mean, the group is incredible. And it’s a very easy group to feel at home with. One of the biggest things that I noticed when I came in here is the way the guys work. And when you work that way, you work the way this team does, you know, you have a lot of fun and you build a lot of unity together because of that,” Marchand said during the post-game press conference.

“And obviously the team has been through a lot of big moments and tough moments as well. And, you know, you bond over that. And coming in, everybody, you know, embraced me and welcomed me. And I feel like I’ve built some really, really good friendships already in a very short period of time.” When he talked about his early days with the team, Marchand mentioned how he quickly saw the amazing work ethic and camaraderie among everyone. He really praised the Panthers for how their players support one another, stick together through the ups and downs, and foster a fun, competitive vibe.

Absolutely, they’re tough hockey players, but at the end of the day, they’re also just human beings with feelings. Marchand pointed out that what really struck him was how success in the Panthers organization feels genuinely earned. Even when things don’t go exactly as planned, the team takes the time to celebrate the good moments thanks to all the hard work they’ve put in. He mentioned that the culture made it super easy for him to fully embrace it and form strong friendships in no time.

So, the Panthers came back with a goal from Aleksander Barkov, but then Toronto pulled ahead even more, making it 3-1 when Tavares scored his second goal of the game. Florida really showed their grit, with Sam Reinhart and Jonah Gadjovich both scoring to tie things up at 3-3. So, in the third period, Morgan Rielly scored and put Toronto back in the lead, but then Carter Verhaeghe came through for Florida and tied things up at 4-4, sending the game into overtime.

The overtime period was really intense, with both teams creating chances to score. So, at 15:27 in overtime, Brad Marchand came through and scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers! The Panthers really need to keep that momentum going into Game 4 to even up the series.
