Imagine your team winning the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row—you pop Champagne bottles, go wild, and let loose. Well, that’s exactly what happened when the Florida Panthers, along with Brad Marchand and his squad, celebrated their 2024–25 season victory in Miami. The celebration took a slightly chaotic turn when a few drunk teammates actually spoke to the media. And, as the saying goes, a drunk man never lies—those teammates ended up revealing some wild insider stories about Brad Marchand and other stars also!

During a live podcast with Aamulypsy, the host asked the panther players on the call, “Is Marchand the director who’s leading the party?” The teammate replied, “Well, yes, he is. He’s driving me crazy.” He then added, “Can I tell you something? Anton Lundell is from Espoo. He’s such a nice guy… but he’s a total jerk.” The same drunk teammate also mentioned Eetu Luostarinen, from Kuopio, saying, “He’s such a nice guy, but he’s a total jerk. He always goes crazy when he sees the number.” And then, when you put Marchand on the phone, he already knows how it’s going to end.

After this point, the discussion went in a different direction; basically, it turned towards Juho Lammikko, a right winger. The host of the podcast said, “Let’s talk about Lammikko for a moment.” And the Panthers’ teammate on the call said, “I remember a game in which you got something on your head with Lammikko.” And a voice chimed in to say, “Yes, I have to put some money in my mobile phone when I go to Lapland. (1:08) I’ll put a mobile phone bill in the summer.” It’s literally hilarious to notice something behind the curtain.

That was awesome, right? In another incident, Eetu Luostarinen was revealed to Aamulypsy, which is one of the popular Finnish morning radio shows. While the conversation was in Finnish, an X user, @Flakitties, helped the Panthers fans understand what the key terms the podcast hosts and Florida Panthers teammates used for Eetu Luostarinen. The hosts called Luostarinen ‘pellit kiinni’ at one point, which means ‘black out drunkenness.’ And the main reason behind this drunkenness is said to be Marchand.

Brad Marchand was the real hero in the celebration parade

Brad Marchand was the true star of the Florida Panthers’ championship parade in Miami. First of all, the former Bruins superstar made a name for himself in the city in no time. He moved to Florida in the first week of March. And while the back-to-back victory was a collective effort, it was Marchand’s clutch goals that helped secure the trophy. Unsurprisingly, the team celebrated their win in hilarious fashion.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Brad Marchand the ultimate party king, or just a catalyst for chaos in Miami?

Have an interesting take?

First of all, Brad is well aware of his nickname, ‘the Rat.’ That’s why he wore a Rat King crown given to him by a young fan at the parade one day ago. The young fan was surprised to see it actually happen. Not only did Panthers fans shower Marchand with love, but Bruins fans did as well. To Bruins fans, he is still—and will always be a favorite, as we saw after Game 2. Many Bruins fans traveled to Miami to celebrate with Marchand. One young fan was even spotted wearing Marchand’s Bruins jersey, hopeful that Brad might return to Boston during free agency.”

And last but not least, he’s the main character behind the wild Stanley Cup victory celebrations. Many of his drunk teammates jokingly credit him for their out-of-control antics, which seems fair, considering the team’s victory. It looks like Brad will be there for another season in Florida. According to Bleacher Report, he’s expected to receive a four-year, $32 million contract. Let’s see if the Panthers can retain the showman.
