The Great One is the nickname given to the greatest athlete of all time, Wayne Gretzky. Having a nickname like that comes with a huge responsibility. And Wayne carried it all the way to the end of his NHL career. The Great One also has five children, which also made him more responsible. The kids, growing up, also had to live up to the expectations of being the children of a sports icon.

The daughter of Wayne Gretzky, Paulina Gretzky in an interview revealed behind the scenes of her big day. She talked about her wedding with the professional golfer, Dustin Johnson.

She wasn’t just able to decline his request

Paulina Gretzky is in love with her husband in such a way that she just melted even if he muttered a word. Even though she wanted the wedding to be small, she just wasn’t able to decline Dustin’s request.

“Dustin is the romantic, I’m like ‘Let’s go to a courthouse’ and he’s like, ‘No, baby, I want a party, I want everyone to celebrate us.’ I’m like ‘Ugh, I have to be the center of attention, OK.’ It really gave me anxiety a little bit to be that girl. I’m going to have like 10 wardrobe changes [at my wedding], though,” Paulina said. She was just unable to decline his request. Although she had anxiety, she decided to take the attention of the crowd.

Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky got married on April 23, 2022. They tied the knot after 10 years of engagement in a romantic wedding ceremony in Tennessee. It was a proud moment for Wayne Gretzky as he witnessed his first child getting ahead in her life with a successful golfer.

Paulina Gretzky, the first child of Wayne Gretzky is not much of an athlete like her father, but surely she is more likely her mother, Janet Jones. Janet is an American actress who married the Canadian legend in 1988. 

Paulina has expertise in acting, modeling, and many more fields. She is already successful but is still finding her way to more success, just like both of her parents. Growing up as a child of the great one was difficult for her. People had high expectations of her. Although she managed to go through it all to follow her passion.
