There isn’t an NHL fan in the world who doesn’t love a good boxing match on the ice. It’s about as usual as NHL superstar Ryan Whitney holding a grudge against Dave Portnoy, the founder of the sports and pop culture blog Barstool Sports.  Every time these two cross paths, they have a history of chirping at one another.

Dave Portnoy and Ryan Whitney were recently sighted in a vlog by the YouTube channel Spittin’ Chiclets. The two met on a golf course in Arizona and immediately began dueling. While playing mini golf together, the NHL legend and the creator of Barstool Sports got into an intense argument.

What really happened that caused this argument?

In the mini-golf game, Whitney and Portnoy were each given two teams. It looks like everyone who watched and participated in the vlog had a good time. As the mini golf courses changed from time to time, they faced different challenges. But it was all fun and games until Whitney said “even par,” which got everybody’s attention.

While the referee attempted to bring matters to a quick conclusion. Apparently, Whitney took Riggs’s comment, “Doesn’t he manage the company?” to heart. When the ball struck the cameraman, the teams’ heated argument about where the ball should be, resumed. As the cameraman was standing far off the course, the ball was technically “out of bounds.” After much back-and-forth, everyone came to the same conclusion: “Out of bounds because it hit the guy,” settling the dispute once and for all. Whitney was quite mad about the decision, saying, “Let’s go, we’re done.”
