“Haven’t Had a Chant Like That in a Building That Loud”: Unseen Support Pours in for Newly Traded Ex NHL Captain

Former captain of the Vancouver Canucks, Bo Horvat has had a roller coaster of a month. Within a few weeks, Horvat went from being traded to the New York Islanders to having his contract extended to eight years for a whopping $8.5 million. The former NHL superstar, though, seems to be enjoying his newfound position on the Islanders after scoring his first goal for the club in their most recent game against the Seattle Kraken.

The New York Islanders’ supremacy was on display against the Seattle Kraken. The squad is dead set on making the Stanley Cup Playoffs and will do whatever it takes to move up the standings (from sixth to at least third) to do it. Recently, the YouTube channel Glovey McGlovin posted an interview with Bo Horvat in which the forward discussed his thoughts on scoring in his second game with the Islanders.

Good times for the NHL star

The former Canucks captain will play a very particular role for the New York Islanders. The Islanders made the trade for Bo Horvat because they believe he will help them reach the playoffs for the Stanley Cup. It seems like Horvat has already begun his mission to take the squad to the playoffs by scoring his first goal in the most recent game.

In the interview, Bo Horvat says, “You know I haven’t had a chant like that in a building that loud. I don’t think ever so um it’s pretty amazing welcome and you know definitely felt good to get it in my first game at home.”

The Islanders were dominant throughout the game, which they won by a score of 4–0. At this point, the team’s goal is to extend their current winning streak to four matches. Assisting on Horvat’s goal in the 26th minute was forward Mathew Barzal. As a result of the Islanders’ enthusiastic support, he would want to express his gratitude to everyone in the stands. Additionally, he would want to express his gratitude to teammate Barzal for setting him up for this amazing power goal.
