The Boston Bruins have been absolutely dominant this NHL season, shattering record after record. After losing their ten-game winning streak against the Oilers on Friday night, the club is back on fire to resume their winning streak again. The Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 3–2, in Boston’s TD Garden. Their victory ensured their spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and with 105 points, they now top the Eastern Conference. With almost a month left before postseason action begins, this is a tremendous accomplishment for the team. The Bruins’ fan base is flying high this year because they’re so pleased with their team.

How did their game against the Red Wings go?

The game took place in Boston, at TD Garden, and the audience was filled with locals rooting for the home side. The Bruins came into the game with their eyes set on victory, knowing full well how to capitalize on the weaknesses of the visiting Detroit Red Wings. Yet, the Red Wings got off to a good start, as forward Andrew Copp scored the game’s opening goal in the second minute of the first period. After three minutes, Alex Chiasson of the Red Wings scored the game’s second goal, and the rest of the period was scoreless for both sides.

The start of the second half was sluggish. However, in the 33rd minute, defender Hampus Lindholm scored the Bruins’ first goal, giving fans hope of a comeback. Patrice Bergeron scored the equalizer for the Bruins only two minutes later, calming the team down and setting them up to take control of the game and the victory. There was no scoring in the third period until the 54th minute when Bruins forward Garnet Hathaway slammed the puck to give the Bruins a 3–2 victory against the Red Wings.
