The NHL arena reverberates with the names of many players, but certain names travel at lightning speed. And when NHL fans hear the word “fast,” they immediately think of Connor McDavid. The captain of the Edmonton Oilers is one of the most famous players in North American ice hockey. The 2022–23 season seemed bright for the Oilers when they entered the playoffs, but their run was ended in the quarterfinals by the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite this, the Oilers captain was recently the talk of the town during NHL draft season after winning the Hart Trophy for the third time and the Ted Lindsay Award for the fourth time.

Steven Stamkos, captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning, had some things to say about Connor McDavid’s recent success. After being shared by the official NHL account, the fellow captain’s views quickly gained traction among social media users.

The Canadian ice hockey superstar has had a lot of success so far, so his future is looking bright. McDavid accomplished almost everything in 2022–23, from getting engaged to his long-time girlfriend Lauren Kyle to leading the NHL in scoring. The NHL’s lightning-fast player has never won a Stanley Cup, and his place on the Edmonton Oilers is controversial because of this. The Oilers are a respected team, but as the 2022–23 season showed, they can make their supporters very frustrated with their play. With an 8-year, $100,000,000 contract deal inked in 2017, McDavid would be remaining with the franchise for at least another year or two. The future of the Canadian ice hockey star depends heavily on the next several years.
