The Boston Bruins are leading the NHL in points and have had a fantastic season so far. While the Bruins were on a winning streak of more than six games, star forward Brad Marchand almost got injured. The Bruins’ forward was involved in a collision with Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse during their previous game at Rogers Place. The collision left both of them pretty close to suffering heavy injuries.

A Twitter user named Zach posted footage of the incident. Bruins forward Brad Marchand didn’t see Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse, arriving in front of him, owing to his one-track mind focused on the puck. As a consequence of the contact, Marchand’s ankle got trapped in Nurse’s skate, leading to a dangerous situation.

Marchand’s right ankle seemed to be severely injured by the Oilers’ defenseman’s contact. After treating the ice hockey star, the medical staffs of the Bruins and the Oilers immediately joined the players in the locker room. Both Marchand and the Bruins are enjoying fantastic seasons in the NHL, and no one would want anything to force the team into replacing the talented player. It looks like Marchand averted significant harm after being checked out by both medical staff, and he returned to the bench afterward.

Current NHL season for the ice hockey star

When it comes to the NHL, the Boston Bruins, and their players are enjoying a fantastic year. At the moment, Marchand is one of the most important members of the Bruins, as he has appeared in 51 games, scoring 19 goals and adding 33 assists for a total of 52 points. Yet, he’s also having some trouble with league authorities.

When Marchand called out the authorities in a tweet, the cause of the conflict between the NHL player and the authorities became public knowledge. He mentioned how Phoenix Copley got a five-minute penalty in the Kings’ game against the Ducks for getting into a scrum and then using his blocker to launch a punch. But Marchand didn’t approve since he had already been punished severely for less significant offenses. Marchand only asks that these penalties be taken seriously by the authorities because of their potential impact on careers.
