“Don’t Need to Be Scared of Rumors”: Ski Legend Aleksander Kilde Opens Up on Relationship With Mikaela Schiffrin

Born in Norway, Aleksander Kilde is a ski racing champion. Representing Norway in the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Kilde won the bronze medal. After announcing his relationship with alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin, the media scrutiny for both athletes increased.

Aleksander Kilde’s opinion about his relationship with Mikaela Shiffrin 

Kilde spoke about how he has always been open to the public about his relationship with Mikaela. He also gave his candid view on rumors. “We don’t need to be scared of rumours, about things we don’t want to get out there as we can control 100 percent of them”, Kilde spoke.

The Norwegian skier also told about how Mikaela and he spoke about various topics and shared experiences. Aleksander disclosed how he and Mikaela would share videos to learn from each other. “She gives me confidence because she has such a good mindset,” Kilde remarked.

The skiing legend also showed tremendous support for Mikaela Shiffrin at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. When Mikaela lost her second race in the 2022 Winter Olympics, Kilde said that it was a part of the game. He spoke that it was all about balance, adding that he loved her. Later, after Mikaela won her downhill skiing race, both Kilde and Schiffrin shared a hug to celebrate.

Kilde also told about how it was difficult for him to deal with fame. “There is a lot of interest for sure but it’s hard for me too, because I’ve kind of experienced a change,” he said.

Kilde is currently the ambassador of the Syngenta group, which has taken a strong stance in fighting climate change. The skiing expert is also a part of a partnership with mountainFlow, which provides eco-friendly ski products.
