Large waves that may cause a surfer to wipe out are a common topic of conversation among surfers. Large waves are impressive to look at, but in the world of surfing, long waves require the surfers to work on a whole other level. Long waves, which may persist for more than a minute, are so named because of their duration. Artificial surf technology has made it possible to manufacture such amazing waves, providing those who practice cruising in the long wave. Ben Gravy, a star surfer and YouTube sensation showed the world just how amazing it is to ride such lengthy waves.

The secret behind these fantastic waves

Natural causes may account for big waves, but the long waves are artificial. Ben Gravy rode a 90-second-long wave that was formed by a well-driven motorboat and a gorgeous sandbank on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Moreover, it’s possible that Gravy rode it without a hitch, making it the longest wave ever surfed in Florida.

As soon as the wave was made, Gravy got into a good position and surfed it to its full potential. From the get-go, he kept his balance on his board, witch can be tricky at times as surfers cannot generate a lot of momentum from such waves. The thrill of seeing him ride the waves was so great that the spectators behind him stopped trying to ride the waves themselves.
