The Banzai Pipeline on the north shore of O’ahu, Hawaii, is known for its waves. While the Pipeline is pretty popular for its awe-inspiring waves, it is also home to a lot of surfing accidents. Despite the dangers, this YouTube surfing sensation has taken pipeline challenges to the next level.
Jamie O’Brien is a YouTube surfing sensation known for his freestyle tricks. The surfer hails from Hawaii and is acquainted with the treacherous waves of the Banzai Pipeline. However, in a recent YouTube video, he takes things to the next level by competing against a boat.

Jamie O’Brien has never shown an interest in competing in big surfing events. Although for his 874k loyal subscribers on YouTube, O’Brien likes to take on new challenges every time he gets on the surfboard. Despite knowing the risks involved with the Banzai Pipeline, the surfer didn’t care about the odds.
The surfer was determined to accept the challenge. When he arrived at the garage, he immediately searched for his Wade Tokoro surfboard. The Tokoro board is known for its popularity in Hawaiian pipelines as the surfboard goes really smoothly with the waves.

Before the challenge, while going through his surfboard collection, the surfer says, “I don’t know he’s got to find the new board. We’re going Wade Tokoro, no soft tops today. No funny business. We’re gonna get straight into some serious serious serious contest surfing.”
O’Brien, while assembling his surfboard, talks about John John Florence while using the latter’s fin on his Wade Tokoro surfboard. While the surfing session started with some cheeky wipeouts, it took O’Brien a while to settle into the waves. Eventually, when the boat came in and the waves went high, O’Brien stood up on his surfboard and conquered the big waves like it was a piece of cake.
