Any time a surfing fan is asked who puts a GoPro in his mouth to film fantastic surf vlogs, the name Jamie O’Brien immediately comes to mind. O’Brien is notable for being one of the youngest surfers to ever win a Pipe Masters, which he did in 2004. Despite his obvious surfing prowess, O’Brien has chosen to focus on content development in order to satisfy his massive online fan base. He is famous for always providing fresh content for his followers.

A brief surf clip from the millionaire surfer has just been posted to his official Facebook page. O’Brien has picked the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, for his video, which is a popular place for surfers from all over the world.

Another casual day of surfing for the surfer

Any surfer may enjoy a relaxing ride across the North Shore waves during the warm summer months. Similarly to other surfers, Jamie O’Brien has posted a video of himself riding the waves. However, O’Brien mentions the waves in his caption of the Facebook post, saying, “Off the wall gave us *perfect* glassy waves (north shore).” The surfer’s description of the waves’ “glassy” quality was borne out by the footage.

At the beginning of the clip, we see O’Brien attempting a backflip after riding a wave, only to fall into the sea after becoming dislodged from his surfboard.

One wipeout didn’t deter this surfer, however; he went right back in the water, riding the next wave. O’Brien took this incredible POV footage from within the wave by placing a GoPro in his mouth. In every single instance when the surfer attempted to ride waves double his height, he was washed out at the wave’s apex. The surfer even dove deep into the ocean to demonstrate the clarity of the water.

The surfer had spent enough time on the North Shore waves to have a thorough understanding of their characteristics. Now that he has mastered the art of not being wiped out at the end of the wave and doing a reversal trick at the end of the wave, he once again paddles out to face the ocean’s swells on his surfboard. He clearly understands his audience well since he shows these mini-stunts many times throughout the vlog.
