American big-wave surfing legend Laird Hamilton, aka Waterman, is a household name. In modern times, the title of “Waterman” is still reserved for only the most formidable surfers, yet its origins may be traced back to the ancient Hawaiians. The 59-year-old surf legend is still making headlines because of his groundbreaking XPT (Extreme Performance Training) underwater training course. Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reece, created this exercise routine, which has since been featured on extreme fitness shows. As Waterman endorses taking this test, many famous people do it as well.

Along with Canadian chef Matty Matheson and American artist Benny Blanco, Laird Hamilton’s videos took off in March of 2020. His rigorous underwater fitness routine caught Blanco and Matheson completely off guard. On the other hand, both the songwriter and the chef were eager to give it a try after Hamilton recommended it to them. When Blanco was interviewing Hamilton about his pre-workout routine, the surfer icon’s response only served to further perplex the composer.

The two men, Benny Blanco and Matty Matheson, bombarded Laird Hamilton with several questions. The musician asked initially whether the routine was fatally dangerous, but Hamilton shot down that rumor right away. The legendary surfer describes the physical and mental rewards of the activity by saying, “how good you feel.” Both famous people echo his sentiment, using the term “power” to describe the effect of the routine. Blanco’s inquiry into Hamilton’s pre-exercise planning was the next significant thing.

Laird Hamilton explains to Benny Blanco the workout prep by saying, “Like the training makes you hungry. Good to be hungry for the food. And then eat the food and train. You train, you’re hungry, you eat, you train harder, and then you’re hungry from the training, and then eat the food, and train. You eat, you train harder.” The songwriter was perplexed, despite the fact that the entire process of getting ready for a workout simply entails eating enough so that you no longer feel hungry and can focus on your exercise.

Two of the most iconic athletes of all time, Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece, have devoted their whole careers to making their bodies better at what they do. By combining ballistic, strength, cardio, and mental activities, they came up with the training known as XPT Water, which takes place in both shallow and deep water or just in the swimming pool.

XPT is built on three fundamental pillars: breathing, moving, and recovery. The exercise routine that the dynamic duo has designed for their pool workouts together may be modified to meet the needs of persons of varied fitness levels. About 30 exercises that may be done with dumbbells in shallow and deep water in swimming pools are included in this water fitness regimen. This makes the experience challenging, but the benefits of increased physical and mental strength and a sense of accomplishment are well worth the effort.
