The mindset of a bull riding world champion

The rodeo arena was packed to capacity for the Extra Outs battle. This PBR Team Series season has been monumental for Jose Vitor Leme, as he has already accomplished several remarkable things. The Brazilian cowboy this time was astride a famous bull by the name of Brusta, whose buck-off percentage is 92%. With just eight seconds to make his move, the cowboy knew he had to tame the bull if his team was going to score and take the lead in the Team Series standings in Anaheim. In a matter of seconds, the metal chutes came loose, and the bull began to buck.

Even though Brusta continued to buck in the midst of the rodeo arena, Leme proved himself to be a powerful cowboy by remaining firmly atop the animal. The 8-second buzzer sounded, and the audience went wild as the Brazilian cowboy stunned onlookers and judges alike with his impressive ride. The cowboy had scored game-winning points before in the team series, and “this moment” inspired confidence for the squad’s remaining matches. He said, “The whole team is working hard to be on this position, and I’m so glad to have my teammates supporting me.” When asked what the 91-point ride was like, he said, “That’s what we were working for.”

Since the beginning of the 2023 PBR Team Series, Jose Vitor Leme has been an invaluable member of the Austin Gamblers. There were several enormous 90-point rides among the rides he produced, including one at the beginning of the tournament during another Extra Outs round.

The unstoppable determination of the cowboy

Due to its immense popularity, the PBR Team Series maintained its Extra Outs showdown on July 25 as an additional round. Jose Vitor Leme faced off against the bull with the catchy moniker I’m Legit Too. This bull had a 67% buck-off rate, but it wasn’t enough to frighten away the two-time world champion.

As soon as the metal chutes were released, the black bull ran to the center of the rodeo arena and began bucking the Brazilian cowboy. As the 8-second buzzer sounded and the audience went berserk, the cowboy firmly received each buck and remained on the bull. The judges had already given him a huge 90.50 for this ride before he was flung from the bull. Even though it wasn’t his first 90-point ride in the Team Series, this one stands out.
