Christian Pulisic is a name that is currently on the lips of every AC Milan fan. It isn’t just about this season that is making the American winger a talk of the town, as since arriving at San Siro, he has been showcasing no signs of stopping, continually dominating the entire Italian league. On that note, it’s only natural to hope that the Rossoneri must be desperate to keep their star player for the long haul. Well, technically, they are, but it looks like Milan are in no rush.

To be fair, Pulisic’s contract shouldn’t even be a matter of concern, considering he is tied with the Serie A giants until 2027. There even remains the option to extend it until 2028.  However, in the back of the club’s mind, they believe that the 27-year-old’s contract will expire in 2028, not a year before that. At least, that’s how renowned journalist Matteo Moretto reported on his YouTube channel.

Considering the hot red form he has been showcasing, it’s in AC Milan’s own interest to offer him a much longer and lucrative contract to avoid any big club potentially luring him away. While the club don’t see his extension as an “immediate priority at the moment, in the sense that there’s no fixed date,” both parties haven’t ruled out the possibility of discussing the matter again.

This is mainly because not only does Milan believe Christian Pulisic deserves a new contract that gives him a major financial boost, but the fact that the former Borussia Dortmund star is himself very “attached” to donning the club’s shirt. Hence, simply put, there’s hardly any need to worry about his contract.

Notably, Matteo Moretto had earlier suggested with confidence that Christian Pulisic’s contract situation at AC Milan was close to being resolved. The expectation was that the former Chelsea star would sign an extension in early 2025, but talks stalled over the summer. Reports indicate that Pulisic and his representatives wanted to first evaluate the club’s direction under returning coach Massimiliano Allegri and receive clarity on Milan’s wider project, including transfer plans.

Although a verbal agreement for a new deal until 2028, worth around €4–5 million per year, was prepared, the two parties have yet to sit down and finalize it. As a result, the renewal remains on hold, fueling doubts about whether the 27-year-old is fully committed to continuing his career in Italy. But we’re sure that this latest update is enough to suggest that there’s nothing to be afraid of, Milan fans. Not to mention, the club itself knows how special this player is.

No jinx, but Christian Pulisic is living his best life at AC Milan

Like we said, Mr. Captain America is showing no signs of stopping. Within five Serie A games, he has notched four goals and two assists. Even in the first two Coppa Italia games, he has managed to get his name on the scoresheet, making it evident he’s running for the Golden Boot race. Since joining Milan, he has now tallied 38 goals and 25 assists across all competitions, cementing himself as a key figure in their attack.

His performance against Udinese after having scored two goals and an assist in the same game also put him in rare company, making him just the second USMNT player in the last two decades to register two goals and an assist in a single game in Europe’s top five leagues, after Jordan Pefok’s Ligue 1 feat in 2018.

And the numbers keep growing. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pulisic has been Serie A’s most decisive player since the start of the 2023–24 season, with 46 goal contributions (27 goals and 19 assists) in the league. That tally puts him ahead of Inter captain Lautaro Martínez (45), with Marcus Thuram (42), Mateo Retegui (42), and Romelu Lukaku (40) following behind.

Off the pitch, his impact has been just as impressive. SempreMilan.com reported that Pulisic’s arrival sparked a 147% rise in jersey sales in the U.S., reflecting Milan’s growing popularity in America. Likewise, as highlighted by Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pulisic’s shirt is currently the third most purchased among other Milan players, trailing only Luka Modric and Rafael Leao.

And you still think AC Milan will let go of Christian Pulisic that easily.
