There’s still some time before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off, but Christian Pulisic already seems determined to impress. With less than nine months to go, the USMNT skipper is showcasing exactly what fans can expect from him in the prestigious tournament, which he’ll play on home soil alongside co-hosts Canada and Mexico by delivering remarkable performances for his club side, AC Milan.

On Tuesday, the Rossoneri hosted Lecce for the second round fixture of the Coppa Italia. An emphatic 3-0 victory helped Massimiliano Allegri’s side progress through the next round. Though Pulisic didn’t start the game due to a necessary squad rotation, he did come off the bench during the hour mark to score a goal within a couple of minutes, marking the team’s third goal after a 20th-minute goal from Santiago Giminez and a 50th-minute strike from Christophger Nkunku.

Scoring a goal right after coming from the bench only meant the 27-year-old forward managed to maintain the impeccable form he has been showcasing for a while. It was just last week on Saturday, when Milan secured another 3-0 win over Udinese, the American international was at the forefront of the headlines thanks to his two goals and one assist. Such back-to-back performances only see him achieve a remarkable feat.

With his two goals and an assist, Pulisic became the first player to register at least 25 goals and 15 assists over the past three Series A seasons, tallying 25 goals and 17 assists since joining San Siro. It doesn’t end here; ever since joining AC Milan, Christian Pulisic has become the only Serie A player to record 35 goals and 20 assists in all competitions. This remarkable topping chart feat came in over 106 games.

Need more? Pulisic has now scored a total of 60 goals across his time with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Milan. This only helps him surpass his fellow nation’s icons like Clint Dempsey (57) and Roy Wegerle (55) in the feat of the most goals scored by a U.S. men’s national team player in Europe’s top five leagues.

His Udinese performance also put him in an elite company in U.S. soccer history, as he became just the second USMNT player in the last 20 years to record two goals and an assist in a single game in Europe’s top five leagues, following Jordan Pefok in Ligue 1 in 2018.

While it’s great to see “Captain America” achieve such individual milestones, you might be surprised to know that’s the least of what he wants, as the former Borussia Dortmund star prefers to think more collectively. “Winning trophies and games are more important for me; goals and assists are always there,” said CP10, as per ESPN.

Be that as it may, AC Milan must feel fortunate to have a player like Pulisic in their attacking ranks. More than that, hearing all such feats that the former Chelsea star has managed to achieve only sounds like music to the ears of ardent USMNT fans. With the World Cup approaching like a fast train, those wanting to make the squad are advised to keep their form on point, and Christian is doing just that. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him get rewarded by his team for everything he has done so far!

Will Christian Pulisic receive a new contract from AC Milan?

Though Christian Pulisic has a contract with AC Milan until the summer of 2027, reports suggested that his long-term future with the Rossoneri should have already been settled. According to journalist Matteo Moretto and as compiled by Goal, the U.S. star was expected to sign an extension earlier in 2025, but the process stalled during the summer.

Pulisic and his camp reportedly wanted to assess AC Milan’s direction under returning coach Massimiliano Allegri and sought assurances regarding the club’s broader project, including transfer market plans. A verbal agreement for an extension until 2028, with a proposed salary of €4–5 million per year, has been reached, and the paperwork is ready.

However, the negotiations remain unresolved, as the two sides have yet to meet, leaving the renewal talks effectively on hold and raising questions about whether the 27-year-old is fully convinced about committing his future in Italy. Regardless, for now, Pulisic continues to deliver on the pitch without being distracted off it, as he builds toward a home World Cup in 2026.
