Every great player was once a part of the grind. While the struggling days give motivation to the players, those days consist of thousands of memorable moments. NHL star, Patrick Kane, also had similar incidents before he rose to stardom. The three-time Stanley Cup winner once went down memory lane and revealed similar incidents. 

Almost half a year back, Kane appeared for an interview on the NHLPA YouTube channel. 

NHL fame went down the memory lane

In the special segment of the interview titled, Please Explain’, Kane was shown some of his pictures from the past. The star hockey player then had to explain the story behind the picture to the viewers. There were many pictures, including his meeting with former hockey player Joe Sakic. But the one that stood out was when the star just entered professional hockey. 

The picture depicted Kane wearing a tight jersey of team Canada and standing along with his fellow mate wearing an America jersey. His young face with white-coloured spectacles was giving him a hilarious look. The champion player informed me that he participated in some events as the Olympics were approaching. “I think we were doing the USA versus Canada. A bunch of events and I think the Olympics are coming up”, he said.

When Kane got to meet his childhood hockey star

The ice hockey champion has been a true sensation in the NHL games. However, the interview also recalled a time when he got to meet the childhood hockey superstar. A picture popped up showing little Kane with another Blackhawks star player, Joe Sakic. 

The star hockey player revealed that it was Sakic’s injury that became the reason for his lucky meet. “We went to a pre-skate game and I think Sakic was hurt, so he wasn’t playing that night and we were able to go down and meet some of the guys after.”, Kane said.
