USTA Collaborates With New Sponsor for US Open 2020

The USTA announced a leading insurance company, Chubb, as the official insurance sponsor for the US Open. USTA collaborated with Chubb on a multi-year agreement. The partnership begins with the upcoming edition. The courts for the US Open at the Billie Jean King National Centre will feature Chubb’s branding. The main courts – Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium, and the other courts will have on-court signage featuring Chubb.
Chubb is one of the leading casualty insurers in the world with headquarters in New Jersey. Chubb is a property and casualty insurance company. The theme for the first year of this partnership is ‘comebacks’. As an insurance company, Chubb helps people and businesses recover from calamities.
The ‘comeback’ Grand Slam

The theme also is in tune with the comeback of tennis during the time of coronavirus pandemic. The US Open is the first Grand Slam event in the COVID-19 era.

“Uniting the US Open with Chubb, a global leader in helping people and businesses during times of adversity, is very fitting in 2020,” said Lew Sherr, Chief Revenue Officer at USTA, on the collaboration.
“We’re looking forward to growing our US Open partnership together and delivering the very best product when it’s needed most,” Sherr added.

Greenberg, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer at Chubb. “This sponsorship reinforces our confidence in the nation’s economic vitality and recovery from the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic,” Greenberg added.
The field for the New York event is missing some of the world’s top players. The Grand Slam event is organized in a bio-secure bubble. Players are already arriving for the event as the Western and Southern Open is before the event. The US Open will start on August 31 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre.
