Valentina Shevchenko and Amanda Nunes are two of the most feared women in UFC at the moment. These two are so far ahead of the curve that very few opponents in the women’s division can even offer them a tough fight.

While Shevchenko has cleared out the 125 division dominating all of her opponents, Nunes has all the big names in women MMA under her resume. She has beaten Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg, and Meisha Tate in dominating fashion. Holding two titles at two different divisions, Nunes is considered the best women’s fighter in MMA at the moment.

However, the only fight in recent memory that pushed the Lioness to the limit was her fight against the Bullet, Shevchenko. Nunes and Shevchenko have gone at each other twice in the octagon. Both the times Nunes took the W via decision. The last fight, however, was a close one with the majority of the people thinking that Shevchenko did enough to beat Nunes and rightfully so. Shevchenko did more work in the 5 rounds and landed more significant strikes. After the judges gave that fight to Nunes, Shevchenko criticized the judges in her post-fight interview. Since then the trilogy fight between these two has been a must-see fight in the women’s division.

When asked about the possibility of a third fight with Nunes, Shevchenko said that she still believes she won the fight against Nunes the second time.
She mentioned:
“At this point, I think in the future it’s still gonna happen the third fight. Because the last fight was not the quite result it should have. Everybody I see that fight I think this is my victory”.

She also seemed hopeful for a third fight in the future when she said:
“I see the third fight happening sometime in the future. Because at this point it’s not something that I want or she wants. When it happens I’ll be ready.”

Well, at the moment both Nunes has her next opponent ahead of her. Nunes will defend her title against Germaine de Randamie in a rematch from 2013. Many believe it will be a tough matchup for Nunes considering the winning streak Germaine de Randamie is on.

However, it’s safe to say that there are not a lot of women in the fight game who can go toe to toe with Shevchenko or Nunes. Valentina Shevchenko and Amanda Nunes seem to be on a collision course and the trilogy fight is inevitable.
