The devs added a new map set in Italy called Ascent, and a new agent named Reyna. They patched in a new game mode and also made several tweaks to the existing maps and agent abilities. Moreover, numerous Quality of Life improvements and in-game bug fixes were made. But, just like with every other game, for each bug an update fixes or addresses, a new one generates.

A player has now discovered a game-breaking bug related to Omen’s Dark Cover ability that could lead to potential exploits.

The developers buffed Omen by making several balancing changes to his abilities in Patch 1.0. Among all the tweaks he received, the changes introduced to his Dark Cover ability stand out the most. As a result, on using the ability, Omen now enters a “phaser” version of the map that allows him to see through walls and place smokes. Moreover, pressing “reload” enables him to toggle between the phased and view modes.

Although players can precisely place their smokes using this feature, it has also generated a new glitch leading to potential exploits. A player, SmogenToboggan, posted a clip of the exploit on the r/VALORANT subreddit.

As shown in the clip, pressing reload (R) not only allows players to see through walls but also points out enemy locations abruptly. Moreover, repeatedly spamming reload gives you a concrete idea of the opponent’s position. This is an unfair advantage that could spoil/affect the gameplay of the opponent(s) by giving away their movements.

It is advisable not to exploit bugs as it could lead to a ban. The developers will most likely fix the game-breaking bug soon.

Dark Cover- Omen now enters a “phaser” world where he can see through walls to place his smokes. Pressing RELOAD toggles between phased and normal targeting.

Dark Cover- Controls have been updated where Omen can now increase smoke distance with PRIMARY FIRE, decrease it with SECONDARY FIRE, and throw smoke with the ABILITY KEY.

Shrouded Step- Omen can now see his teleport location on the map and receives an in-world indicator of where he’s targeting when his vision of the point is obstructed.

From the Shadow- Omen can now cancel his teleport while in Shade form by pressing the ABILITY KEY again—Omen still loses all of his ult points if he cancels.

These improvements will make Omen a popular pick among players.
