Valorant is one of the most competitive games out there currently that features a balanced arsenal. However, using the Operator sniper rifle has become the current meta and might run the risk of saturation if the trend continues. On his return stream, Shroud addressed the same, suggesting the Operator sniper rifle has no place in the game. Some pros have seconded his opinion.

Valorant features an arsenal with a balanced distribution of firepower. None of the weapons seem to give players an unfair advantage over others. Having said that, though, many players seem to be using the Operator sniper rifle more than any other gun.

Now, the Operator is one of the premium guns in the game, costing 4500 credits. If you can just aim properly, the gun has a one-tap kill potential. It is similar, in many aspects, to the AWP rifle from CS: GO. The damage capacity and the two-part scope-in of the OP is quite similar to AWP. It deals 255 damage with a headshot, 150 torso damage, and 127 damage on the arms or legs.

Shroud talks about the OP meta in Valorant, many pros support his statement

Many fear that this gun is running the risk of saturation and could end up becoming a stable meta in the game. Despite the mounting debate about it, devs have yet to do or even say anything about it.

OP has been bothering players for a while now. An opponent wielding this sniper can single-handedly hold a location, making it a death trap. Furthermore, the maps in Valorant are compact and closed. Therefore, a sniper blocking out one of the sites with a clever angle can result in a stalemate.

Given this situation, devs should probably nerf or tune the gun as they did with Vandal or Phantom.
