Epic Games unveiled the trailer for their upcoming game Vampire: The Masquerade Swansong. This indeed comes as a surprise considering Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set for a 2021 release.
The RPG series is based on the table-top game which was first released in 1991by creator Mark Rein-Hagen. It was then adapted into a fully RPG action game called Vampire: The Masquerade- Redemption in 2000. Bloodlines was released in 2004 as an indirect sequel to Redemption but failed to perform in the market. It was released alongside Half-Life 2 but managed to sell only 80,000 copies.

This now sets the plot for the upcoming Bloodlines 2, hopefully in spectacular fashion. The game is based in a world where Vampires, Werewolves and other creatures exist and are a part of human history. The main character is a ‘fledgling’, a human who is transformed into a vampire. He is then taken in front of the council where his ‘Sire’ is executed for turning him into a vampire without authorization. Thus follows the story for this particular ‘fledgling’, where he tries to prevent the Vampire apocalypse.
The trailer for Swansong does not reveal much about the storyline or the gameplay. Set in the Boston Camarilla (One of the branches of the Vampire Government), the game will have 3 main characters by the name Leysha, Emem, and Galeb.

Hazel Iversen, the Swan, is the new Prince of the Boston Camarilla. An iron hand in a velvet glove, she intends to assert her power and respect the Masquerade, the vampiric law designed to ensure humans never learn of the existence of these creatures of the night. But nothing works as planned. With rumours of plots, murders and power struggles, you must work in the shadows to protect your Sect in a frantic investigation that plunges Boston into chaos.
The gameplay will follow the intertwined lives of the 3 main characters. The decisions you make in-game will ultimately affect the fate of your character and the Boston Camarilla. The official announcement reads

‘Vampire’ may not be the best-selling game but is definitely a cult favorite because of its unique play-style and storyline. Bloodlines released 16 years ago and failed to make an impact. Hopefully, Swansong and Bloodlines 2 will not disappoint. We’ll have to wait for more news regarding the same.
