In an interview with MUTV, Manchester United Manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that there are more summer signings to come.
Four additions have been made to the squad – Matteo Darmian, Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger – but the Dutchman is still targeting players to strengthen the team.
In an interview with MUTV’s Stewart Gardner “I hope so. No, we are not finished yet, I think,” was what Van Gaal replied when asked if he expects a few more signings before the transfer deadline, at the end of August.
“It is what I have said already in many press conferences. We need a balance in the selection and I think we still need to improve at least two positions and we shall do that when it is possible.”
The Reds boss has been trying hard to find the balance in his team since the start, but couldn’t quite do much due to the injuries.
“But we shall only buy when the player can give a contribution to our level. And, of course, that is in the eyes of our staff, but I have to have confidence that he can cope with the rhythm of the Premier League.”
Many proven players find it difficult to adjust in the Premier League and Van Gaal is pretty much clear with it, as United’s record signing, Angel di Maria is not coping up well in England.
