Van Gaal, Muller to reunite at United?

Van Gaal is a big time admirer of the 25 year old German who played for him when he was managing Bayern Munich. According to reports, he has plants to bring Muller to United to bolster their attack. Thomas Muller has been nothing short of brilliant for Bayern Munich and Germany and will be great addition to any team. Given the fact that United are looking to add to their attacking options, with Falcao leaving and an ageing Van Persie not looking like his usual self, it will be huge for the club if they are able to land Muller. In the 2014-15 season, he scored 20 goals and set up another 18 and was vital to Bayern winning the Bundesliga. He is also known for his leadership qualities.

Reportedly, Manchester United are prepared to offer a staggering 160 million euros, which contains the transfer fee as well as the salary for a five year contract.  This would make him the second highest paid player in the squad after captain Wayne Rooney.

When contacted, Muller said, “When an offer comes, you deal with it. An offer from a big club is an honour and reward that your performance is good”. But, he also said that he fully intends on staying in Bayern till his contract runs out in 2019 for now. So, it is not clear yet whether the transfer will ultimately go through. We will have to wait and see.
