Van Gaal vows to give youngsters a chance

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will open up his US Summer Tour Diaries and write about youngsters this time.

The Red Devils coach took a number of youth players to America last time including Tyler Blackett, Paddy McNair, and Andreas Pereira and vows to do the same again.

The Dutchman has also promised the fans to put the young talent of Manchester United on show in the US Tour as a part of the first team. Louis van Gaal gave club debuts to eight youngsters last season and he claims that the fans will not be disappointed.

Manchester United were crowned Under-21 Premier League champions last season.

The United Under-21 team won the championship last season whereas Van Gaal's senior team remained trophy-less.

“I shall take a lot of youngsters with us to the USA,” van Gaal said.

“They have the chance to show themselves and then we shall wait and observe how they can develop. You get your chances always, especially in pre-season and, when you grab that chance, you have maybe the possibility to join us next season.”

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach has a reputation for bringing through young talent, and has plenty at his disposal at Old Trafford.

Warren Joyce’s team topped the 12-team Under-21 Premier League division last season, and ensured that their rivals City gave them a guard of honour by thumping them 4-0 to win the championship in style.

Van Gaal was pleased with the news of the trophy, but it will be a tough task to fit them into his first team next season.

“A championship for the second team is fantastic,” he told United’s site . “But I think one player every year in the first-team as a line-up player is much more important.”
