Champ, what a performance, Loma! Very proud of you, bro. Wish I could’ve been there. I’m in Idaho with my family. Way to come back strong, that is a true definition of a champion. After a loss, you rose to the occasion and came back better and stronger. Now go get your belt back,” said Mark Wahlberg.

Is Teofimo Lopez next for Vasiliy Lomachenko?

Ever since his loss against Teofimo Lopez in October 2020, Lomachenko has wanted a rematch. Lopez has publicly shown disinterest in a rematch with Vasiliy; however, with Lomachenko stopping Nakatani in round 9 and dominating him throughout the fight, the tides seem to be changing.

Teofimo’s father Teofimo Lopez Sr. was in attendance at Lomachenko’s fight against Nakatani. After the fight, Lopez Sr. said that they would offer a rematch to Lomachenko, but also mentioned it has to be after Lopez’s mandatory title defense against George Kambosos in September 2021.

Everybody saw how I won and everybody has been waiting for the rematch,” Lomachenko said after the fight. “So, let’s make the rematch. … I understand he has a fight in the future. But after. How about after? Next year at the beginning of the year. December. January. February. I’m waiting,” said Lomachenko.

Mark Wahlberg believes that Teofimo Lopez “might get knocked out”. Given Lomachenko’s current form, a rematch with Lopez would definitely be an amazing fight.
