The UFC fulfilled Israel Adesanya’s wish to witness Anderson “The Spider” Silva live ahead of his last fight inside the octagon with the undisputed champion confirming his presence inside UFC APEX on Twitter. Ahead of UFC Vegas 12, Israel Adesanya expressed his desire to be present and watch the former middleweight champion make the walk for his final fight in the promotion.

Israel Adesanya has always maintained that he grew up idolizing ‘The Spider’. The current middleweight champion presently has two-title defenses to his name. While the idea is not to get past Silva’s record, Adesanya wants to leave a legacy on the lines of the Brazilian fighter.

Israel Adesanya’s presence inside the UFC APEX despite the strict regulations in light of the coronavirus pandemic certainly speaks volumes about the treatment he receives from the UFC. Needless to say, he is one of the biggest fighters at present. Additionally, his dominance inside the octagon has drawn parallels with Anderson Silva’s undisputed reign as the middleweight champion back in the day.

Israel Adesanya has grown up idolizing Anderson Silva

Israel Adesanya and Anderson Silva shared the cage back at UFC 234. Back then, Silva was coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Derek Brunson. After an exciting contest that had its moments from both the fighters, ‘Izzy’ secured a comfortable unanimous decision win.

Following his win, he said, “We got you, from the bottom of my heart. You’re the man, you’ve been doing this for a long time. UFC 90, I still remember the DVDs. I’ve been watching you for a long time.”

It must be a dream come true for Adesanya, who got to share the octagon with the former champion. Now, he will be right there beside the cage for ‘The Spider’s’ last dance.

Meanwhile, Anderson Silva has stated that this might not be his last fight. ‘The Spider’ takes on Uriah Hall in the main event of UFC Vegas 12. However, a lot would depend on the outcome of the main event as he stated that he might compete outside of the promotion, however, this would be his last inside the UFC.
