Video: When Young Henry Cejudo Made His Opponent Bend the Knee With Vicious Ground and Pound

Henry Cejudo became the youngest Mexican-American to win an Olympic champion at freestyle wrestling at 21 years of age. Cejudo won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. He retired from wrestling in 2012 to start a career in MMA.

After winning the WFF bantamweight championship, Cejudo took on Miguelito Marti in his fourth MMA fight, which took place at Gladiator Challenge: American Dream event in California, United States.

Cejudo started with an incredible takedown right after going into the fight. The current UFC bantamweight champion benefited from his elite wrestling as he repeatedly threw punches on Marti, all the while trying to get in complete control. At one point, it looked like Marti got hold of Cejudo’s arm, but Cejudo was quick enough to turn the situation in his favor by attacking Marti from his back for a takedown.

Henry Cejudo dominated the entire fight and handled Marti with complete ease. He showed brilliant ground game and impressive boxing. He managed to get takedowns over his opponent and finished him with ground and pound. In what was a classic wrestling performance from Cejudo, it also marked the rise of a knockout artist.

It was Cejudo’s fourth straight first-round knockout of his MMA career. He currently holds the UFC bantamweight championship.

When is Henry Cejudo fighting next?

Henry Cejudo’s last octagon appearance came at UFC 238, where he knocked out Marlon Moraes for the bantamweight championship. With that victory, he also became one of the four UFC mixed martial artists to hold UFC championship belts in two different divisions simultaneously. Cejudo successfully defended his UFC flyweight title against TJ Dillashaw in January 2019. He defeated Demetrius Johnson for the UFC flyweight championship at UFC 227.

Given Cejudo’s decision to opt-out of fighting Joseph Benavidez for the UFC flyweight championship, UFC stripped Cejudo off the title. In a recent turn of events, Cejudo challenged Jose Aldo for the championship belt, who recently made his debut at bantamweight. Jose Aldo, former featherweight champion and one of the greatest featherweights of all time, makes for an incredible pairing with Henry Cejudo, after the controversial decision loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC 246. Cejudo’s decision to go after Aldo is sure to grab the attention of the MMA community.
