In a thrilling display of endurance and determination, John Borstelmann won a 150-mile race. Hailing from Nebraska, he clinched victory in the Garmin Gravel Worlds 150. This is also his third title, with the added benefit of winning it in front of his hometown crowd.

Meanwhile, Lauren Stephens added to the day’s excitement with her dominant performance. She won the women’s division. The race was a challenging 150-mile self-supported journey across the gravel plains of eastern Nebraska. Naturally, muddy terrains and relentless rain put competitors’ mettle to the test.

The Garmin Gravel Worlds 150 witnessed an awe-inspiring performance by John Borstelmann. He navigated the demanding 150-mile course in an impressive time of 8 hours, and 10 seconds.

 

 

He overcame many challenges for his victory, as he faced stiff competition from Chase Wark, who finished a mere 18 seconds behind, claiming the second spot. Stephen Vogel secured third place, a remarkable 8 minutes and 20 seconds adrift of the triumphant Borstelmann.

Expressing his joy on Instagram, Borstelmann said, “It’s such an honor to win in front of a home crowd at my favorite race. This one means so much.” The victory was, naturally, special for him, as he had secured his last win in 2021 after finishing as the runner-up in the previous year.

Lauren Stephens Dominates the Women’s Division

Lauren Stephens also her remarkable prowess in the Garmin Gravel Worlds 150 by claiming victory in the women’s category. Stephens completed the grueling 150-mile self-supported race in a remarkable time of 9 hours and 15 minutes. This was a commanding 3 minutes and 39 seconds ahead of her closest competitor, Paige Onweller. Paige secured the second position for the second consecutive year.

Kyleigh Spearing rounded out the top three, finishing nearly 14 minutes behind Stephens.

Her accomplishments also include a silver medal in the US Pro Women’s time trial national championships and a strong fourth-place finish in the pro road race. She also delivered impressive performances in renowned events like Strade Bianche and Tour of Flanders. Naturally, her exceptional capabilities as a cyclist cannot be understated.
