With McKenzie’s football course reflecting a rollercoaster ride in this season’s NFL games, he was initially seen securing the starting slot position after Cole Beasley’s departure. However, despite setting career highs with 42 receptions and 423 yards, inconsistencies led to his stinging release in March 2023.
While the Colts football team signed him to offer a fresh start, McKenzie’s recent entanglement in legal violations of wildlife rules added yet another chapter of havoc. Facing a dreadful suspension, the NFL receiver expressed his candid opinion on social platforms, stating, “I did not kill a bald eagle,” adding, “That story is false.”
Joining the Colts football team, McKenzie’s NFL career saw him transition from a five-year stint with the Buffalo Bills. Struggling to make a significant impact on the field this season, he was recorded as amassing only 11 receptions, that too for 82 yards across ten seasonal games.
