Playing football can be a double-edged sword. While it can be a fun way to spend the festive season, it can have some serious consequences if not executed properly. Unfortunately, that is exactly what transpired in today’s video where several friends tried to capture the holiday spirit with a game of football that ended with a man getting his face smashed. The idea of the football match was unique as it was played on snow. As the players tried to get into the groove and become competitive, a vicious shoulder tackle resulted in an athlete allegedly getting concussed. 

As fellow mates rushed to check on the injured man, the lack of movement on his part raised concerns. Although we do not know the latest updates regarding the athlete’s health, let’s do a detailed analysis of how the entire incident panned out. 

Football match on snow goes wrong 

The viral video was uploaded by ‘House of Highlights’ on Instagram recently. In the short video, we witness a setup of a football game, which was surprisingly played on snow. Most of the men playing the game were seen dressed in proper football gear. They had all the safety equipment on and were also spotted wearing helmets. As the players looked to be in a jovial mood, little did they know that things would take a very wrong turn soon. 

Soon after the commencement of the game, the men realized that playing football on snow was a bad idea. One of the players initiated the match by passing the ball to his fellow mate. However, once the player looked to attack by running towards their opponent’s half, an athlete came running in to stop the attack. The man charged directly at the attacker and thudded into him with a vicious shoulder tackle. Instantly, the attacker fell to the ground face-first and was allegedly knocked out.

Immediately, fellow athletes were seen getting concerned for his health as the video came to a close. Such a bizarre video garnered the attention of the online users and they were quick to comment.

The post captioned, “Running back was trying to relive his glory days 😅😭”, received more than 3.6 million views and 118k likes at the time of writing this article. The video was rightly titled, “Christmas day football was a bad idea…”, and Insta users shared their thoughts on this video in the comment section.
