Reportedly, as their on-rink clash against the Prior Lake crew took a tragic course, the venue witnessed a 25-year-old player’s sudden fall. Suffering multiple fractures, Raiders forward Veszi Lippai was spotted grappling with severe injuries, casting a shadow over his sporting presence. 

While the hockey game peaked its anticipation, Lippai’s shocking fall was recorded when the score stood at 5-0, highlighting a lead for the Raiders crew. And then, the Cretin-Derham captain’s brutal troubles came into action, landing an unprecedented halt to the Thursday match. Sadly, with about 11 minutes left in the third period, this traditional holiday event faced an abrupt climax, declaring a subsequent cancellation by the authorities.

As he struggled with this jolting disruption, the Raiders star was forced to undergo surgeries the very next day, after being escorted off the ice by medical professionals. Additionally, the distressing accident also prompted an outpouring of support from Minnesota’s hockey fraternity, expressing solidarity and well wishes for Lippai. 

Sporting community joins hands in player’s support

With words of encouragement, the Woodbury Boys Hockey team shared their candid support for Lippai on social media, stating, “Many of our boys played youth hockey with him”, as it further read, “We wish nothing but a speedy recovery for him.”

Significantly, the Holy Angels crew also expressed their empathy, hoping for his swift betterment. As per reports, the team was presented with a heartbreaking battle a few weeks ago, involving their esteemed captain, Mason Garcia. Sparking havoc during a preseason scrimmage, the fierce clash led to his traumatic brain injury, rendering him motionless within moments. 

After being rushed to Regions Hospital, the hockey star was reported seizing a miraculous comeback, despite initial concerns about spinal cord damage. With doctors mentioning his save as exceedingly rare, they also disclosed it happening only 3-4 times a year.
