FIFA, the main Governing Body of football, imposed lifetime bans on three soccer players. All three players are from Brazil itself. Brazilian police played a major role in cracking the case. The three players Ygor Catatau, Matheus Gomez, and Gabriel Tota are involved in a match-fixing scandal.

They banned all three players for lifetime. A match-fixing scandal related to sports betting involves the players. In addition, a few other players also got caught in the investigation. However, match fixing is a common phenomenon and is prevailing in all countries.

Involvement of Criminal Organizations

According to the Brazil Reports, some criminal organizations are involved in the matter. They use their power to influence players. The other eight players are also facing suspension for around 360-720 days. Although the police have done a remarkable job. There are few stones left unturned. The Governing body of football in Brazil agreed to the decision of lifetime bans. Although these players will not be playing football inside Brazil any more. The governing body wants the ban to extend to all over the World. These three players do not get to play anywhere.
