The Mount Morris Mountaineers Wrestling Fund Scandal

Alisha L. Patton, the former treasurer of the non-profit youth athletic fund for the Mt. Morris Mountaineers wrestling group, faces allegations of embezzlement. She is accused of siphoning nearly $20,000 from the fund, intended to support the wrestling program at Mount Morris Consolidated School District. At 39 years of age, Patton now confronts the possibility of a severe penalty: up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The case took a twist when the police investigation came to a halt, as Patton moved out of state. However, upon her return, the investigation resumed. The incident has left the community stunned and concerned about the impact on the wrestling program and the trust placed in those responsible for managing funds.
