Last year, Denver Broncos pass rusher, Von Miller hosted the NFL’s best pass rushers at Las Vegas for an event. At that particular Summit, Miller hosted Aaron Donald, Calais Campbell and more players at UNLV’s practice field.

This time around, the COVID-19 crisis has forced NFL teams to improvise and convert it to an online session. In spite of the drastic change in format, Miller’s seminar still manages to retain its effectiveness.

This year, attendees included Miller, Campbell, Khalil Mack, Chandler Jones, Myles Garrett, Arik Armstead, Shaquil Barrett and D.J. Reader among others. Additionally, Broncos rushers Jurrell Casey and Bradley Chubb also attended the two-hour summit,

What was the agenda of that summit hosted by Von Miller?

Truthfully, the entire summit was a massive bonding session between the players. Many of them even opened up on their favorite pass rushers from their childhoods. Additionally, ex All-Pro pass rusher Chuck Smith joined in to help coach the players and run a film-review.

“I’ve been studying pass rush for the last 40 years,” Smith said. “This is the best group of pass rushers the league has ever seen.” Smith may have also had the best line of the day, as he ended the film session with a word of advice: “Live every day like it’s third-and-8. Keep hunting.”

It is also interesting to note that Von Miller based his film-study around his mentor DeMarcus Ware. According to Miller, War has the capability of watching five minutes of film and devising a plan to beat the offensive lineman.

Miller spoke about his game-sealing strip sack of Andrew Luck and a sack of Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. “I always try to anticipate the snap count. I like to go with the ball, not after the ball. My power rush is always off of speed. It’s all about get-off [speed]. I want to make first contact. I want to surprise him.”
