A lot has happened this summer, which is pretty startling. This pandemic has shifted everything to an online platform. This increases our dependence on technology, however, it also increases the anticipation. Furthermore, it makes those trivial aspects of everyday life seem more important. TennoCon 5 took place today on a digital platform. Warframe, a 7-year-old game, saw its developers come out with a new update that stunned its community. This update promises to give a crowning blow to the game that hasn’t seen changes in quite some time.

The newest update will come out on the 25th of August and is expected to be played across platforms. Its central location is a moon on Mars, infected with aliens who mutate into deformed flesh-eating monsters. The games’ third open-world area will be called ‘Heart of Deimos.’

It’s not as huge as the other open worlds but contains a procedurally-generated tunnel network for players to explore. Digital Extremes have added a nice touch by giving the open world a very spine chilling and blood-curdling aesthetic. In other words, it’s a pretty unusual union.

Nechromechs are considered to be one of the main features of this update. They represent a customization system. The new update will employ them with armor and weapons, which will be pretty useful for combat.

Re-examining existing Systems and Frames

“What we wanted to do with [Heart of Deimos] was to have a blend of the new and the old. Because we’re going to do an open world again, we wanted to make sure that we’re tightly packing that experience. Sheldon Carter, COO at Digital Extremes.”

Helminth is the underused room on the spaceship. Now, it can do a good amount of things and has been shown a lot of light in this update. You can take the abilities of other frames by feeding it to the Helminth. I know that’s a lot to take in. Let me try using simpler words. Let’s consider an easy example. If you want Volt’s ability on Khora or Mag, you simply feed it to the Helminth. This replaces one of their abilities. This sounds like good news to those who have been playing for a while. It also adds this subtle touch of being able to upgrade your favorite frame, the way you want to.

“At the same time, there will be new ways to play the game with the Helminth system, so you’re going to be mixing and matching Warframe powers, which is new and different.”

Dynamic quests and unique side missions

The update will feature some mind-bending quests and side missions too. The game leads you to understand what happened to the world before your arrival. That means you run the game in something of a flashback. The new update will provide a glimpse of another interesting title which witnessed rebirth this summer. What are you waiting for? It’s already available.
