Beijing Winter Olympics levels up, goes one step ahead of Tokyo

The Tokyo Summer Olympics were held under much speculation after its delay because of Covid-19. Japan had to alter multiple processes that they earlier planned due to the new Covid guidelines. Infamously, athletes were provided with cardboard beds to sleep on. Not to mention, the organizers received much criticism for the same.

However, the Beijing Winter Olympics will not have any of its athletes sleeping in cardboard beds. They have gone way further and done everything in their power to make sure the athletes receive the best treatment possible.

US luge athlete, Summer Britcher, took to TikTok to answer a number of questions fans asked about the Winter Olympics. When asked about the cardboard beds, she revealed that, in fact, proper queen-sized beds were provided for the athletes to sleep in. The athlete was super excited to share the details of her stay with fans.

“Not only do we not have cardboard beds here, but it’s as if the Beijing organizing committee said, ‘How can we just absolutely just one up Tokyo?’” said the athlete.

She then went ahead to show that her bed even had a remote, using which one could change the angle of their bed.

Zero-G- mode time!

Britcher flexed her sleeping arrangements and displayed how, by simply using the remote, one could change the angle of the bed. She revealed that she was in Zero-G mode, ready to sleep well.

“I’m in Zero-G mode now. It’s phenomenal,” said Britcher. The video went viral over social media. However, when this news reached Summer Olympic athletes, they expressed their disappointment.

Gold medalist Paralympian, Emma Schieck, who participated in the Summer Olympics shared how uncomfortable their cardboard beds were.

“Me watching this as a Tokyo athlete remembering how uncomfy the cardboard beds were,” said Emma Schieck.
