Coleman gave an impressive time of 6.49 seconds in the 60-meter race, grabbing the Gold Medal. Trevon Bromell finished second in 6.50 seconds. World 200-meter champion Noah Lyles was also a part of the race and grabbed the 4th position.

Coleman has revealed that he was actually pretty anxious before the race.

“I definitely felt anxious out there,” said Coleman.

The 25-year-old athlete was previously on an 18-month ban after failing a drug test. This also meant that he was not able to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

Initially, Coleman received a 2-year ban. The Court of Arbitration for Sport, however, reduced his ban to 18 months. Now it looks like Coleman is back stronger and ready to prove himself again.

Before his ban, Christian Coleman was the crowd’s favorite to win the Gold Medal in Tokyo. In the World Championship last year, Coleman won the 100-meters with a timing of 9.76 seconds. This was the 6th fastest time in history.

However, in the upcoming months, Coleman missed three doping tests and was unable to justify the reasons that led to his ban by the Athletes Integrity Unit. Any athlete who misses 3 tests in a 12 month period is banned under the World Anti-Doping Agency code.
