“A lot of people would consider it as the easiest one. It’s where most people would start. That’s why it’s considered the easiest. The truth is wherever you start whatever you work on is going to be the easiest one,” explains the UFC Lightweight fighter.

Being one of the top UFC fighters, ‘Notorious’ has to exercise with all the grips to maintain his physique. He used the bicep grip in this video. A two-handed grip.

“When I go down, I emphasize the elbow coming in. So I’m almost trying to touch elbows. And I also want to extend the arm fully. So I extend the arm fully and then as you come up, bring your elbows in touching each other. Try to as you’re not going to be able to touch elbows,” says McGregor.

‘Notorious’ says the exercise slows down the motion and builds the pecks. The motion also mimics a defense used in a fight to glance a blow to the face and chest. He says the tucking in of the elbows tightens up the body.

“If a shot gets through, its like hitting a brick wall,” says McGregor who emphasized the need to get the strength through the elbows into the body. He invites fans to look at his packs, which are prominent even through his jumper.

‘Notorious’ ends the video by giving fans a demonstration of the pullup. He emphasizes the need to be slow while doing it. We also see how difficult it is to get the elbows to touch despite him doing his best to get them as close as possible.
