WATCH: Forza Horizon Proves Battle Royale Can Be Fun Without Bullets

Battle Royale shooters are all the craze these days. Some of the most popular games today like Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone and others are all from this genre. But wait, what if you could have a racing BR as well? Forza Horizon has just what you need.

Battle Royales are a wonderful concept in a game that ensures users get just enough time to set themselves and prepare for the shrinking arena. You have to be careful and strategic in the early minutes of the game so that you survive until the end.

Usually, this means exploring the map and looting for items, and if possible, placing yourself in a tactically sound position. But what when there are no weapons to loot? What if all you have to do within the arena is race other users until you’re the last man standing?

The genre truly took hold of the gaming community with the introduction of game titles like PUBG and Fortnite. And now, you have a plethora of games under this genre; some good, some not so much. However, the one good thing about it is, everyone gets a BR with elements they like.

Sadly, for the most part, BR games were more or less limited to the shooters, but that all changed when Forza took the leap.

Forza Horizon 4 is one of the better racing games out there. Not only is it a popular racing title, but it also garnered critical acclaim. In fact, it remains one of the highest-rated Forza game in the series. Moreover, back in August 2019, the developers, Playground Games, announced that the game had reached 12 million users.

The developers took the bold decision to introduce a Battle Royale mode in the game- and it is quite fun.

With 72 users in the arena, players can upgrade their basic cars by picking up drops. Another way to get modifications and upgrades is to win a head to head race with another user by racing to a random point on the map. The last few survivors then go at it for the crown with a free for all race.

While it seems like a peculiar concept for a racing game, it sure is a blast. We suggest you give it a go once and see if you don’t mind a Battle Royale without any bullets flying around.
