Current World No. 3 Dominic Thiem has had a tremendous season this year. With each passing year, the Austrian uplifts his game considerably. After having made it to three Grand Slam finals, Dominic finally won the US Open this year. The burden of not having won a Slam in the previous attempts is finally off.

Dominic Thiem says he is going to spend the last days of the year gaming

The Play Station 5 is one of the greatest gaming console ever produced. Naturally, Thiem couldn’t contain his excitement and put up a post on Instagram about his new gaming device. He said, “Christmas came early this year… Huge shoutout to my friends at RedBull for sending me this insane box with the new PlayStation PS5! I think you know how I’ll spend my last days 🎮 .” 

Dominic has probably had the best season of his career this year. He finally won his first major. He began the year by finishing as the runner-up at the Australian Open. Thiem lost to Novak Djokovic in a thrilling 5-set match. After this, tennis was paused due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Once the season resumed, the Austrian lost to the Argentine Diego Schwartzman in another epic 5-set battle at Roland Garros. Finally, the wait ended at the US Open. In the final, Thiem clawed back after being two sets down, to eventually win the match in 5 sets against Germany’s Alexander Zverev.

Later in the ATP Finals in London, although Thiem fell short in the finals, he managed to beat Nadal and Djokovic with ease during the tournament.

Now that the Australian Open 2021 has been confirmed, it’ll be interesting to see how Dominic prepares himself, now that he’s a Grand Slam winner.
