Shortly after a no fight between Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez, the two fighters were involved in a spat in the hotel. A video of the incident came up on Tuesday, where the two fighters were seen involved in a banter.

”You’re going to have to live with that for the rest of your f*cking life,” Rodriguez is seen saying in the video. “It’s not me. I’m fine, motherf*cker,” to which Stephen reples, ”Yeah, real easy to punk somebody like that. Let’s run it back. Call (UFC matchmaker) Sean (Shelby). Run it back.”

”Yeah, run it back – that was yesterday,” Rodriguez says.

Not long after the video came out, Stephens claimed Rodriguez initiated what had happened on Sunday at the hotel.

”He comes up, shakes my hand and then immediately starts talking s—t,” Stephens said as per MMA Fighting. “Where I come from, you don’t do that, bro. I shoved him back across the hotel, and I saw that his sister was recording with her phone, thinking they’re going to catch some little glimpse, or him talking s—t to me.”

”He got shoved and once he got shoved, he didn’t even take a step forward. His family didn’t do s—t either. I was about to smack him and his coaches and anybody who came at me, but they all immediately backed up.”

Just hours prior to when the incident is supposed to have happened, an eye injury to  Stephens in the Octagon led to a disappointing no fight on Sunday. As per ESPN, Rodriguez doubted the legitimacy of the injury, which brought out an angry response from a Stephens, who had called for a rematch.

“Yair, you think I’m faking, bro?” Stephens said. “You’re the one that poked me in the eye. Let’s run it back in four or five weeks. Two weeks. I’ll be ready. It’s just a deep scratch, a deep bruise. You’re the one that poked me. Let’s run it back, m—–f—–. Let’s go.”
