WATCH: Juan Martin del Potro Gives a Hint on His Injury Return on Clay

Argentine tennis player Juan Martin del Potro has been away from the Tour for a considerable amount of time. Throughout his career, he has dealt with a number of injuries. However, he has been on the sidelines for close to two years now. 

There has been a positive update with regard to Juan Martin del Potro’s development. The Argentine player was seen training on the clay courts, which did give an indication that he would probably miss the initial part of the season and target a return during the clay part of the 2022 season.

Juan Martin del Potro sets his sights on clay 

In the clip, del Potro can be seen engaging in intense rallies. The Argentine player could be seen hitting from the baseline and was striking the ball cleanly both on the forehand and the backhand.

It is great to see him training again and is a positive development. Fans have been missing the 33-year-old player who has been a victim of injuries lately.

Reflecting on Juan’s last appearance on the Tour, he was last seen during the French Open 2019 in which he came as far as the fourth round. After that, he has been on the sidelines. Out of the last 11 Grand Slam events, del Potro has been part of only one.

During the 2018 season, the Argentine star enjoyed a great spell. He reached the semifinal at the French Open and followed that by coming as far as the quarterfinal at the Wimbledon Championships. Sadly, he was unable to win the title at the US Open and lost in the final to Novak Djokovic

However, coming to the present date, it is great to see him back again on the court. We wish him all the best in his bid to have yet another incredible spell.
