It was a hard earned lead for the Knicks that was taken away by Irving’s clutch. Knicks had taken the one point lead after coming back from an 18 point deficit, but couldn’t hold on to it.

Irving finished with 26 points on 8-of-19 shooting, showing why he is one of the most clutch players in NBA. An emotional Kyrie Irving gave his jersey to his father after the game.

Knicks’ RJ Barret, who has come out of the same college playing basketball as Kyrie Irving praised the “great player” Irving.

“He earned it,’’ Barrett said. “Great player, champion. Great players make great plays. That’s what he did tonight. Same shot he hit to win the championship against Golden State [in 2016]. It was tough. I was right there. Nothing else you can do about that.’’
