His love for the army has always been apparent and even in the speech he is seen sporting a khakee T-shirt over a blue jeans.

Earlier, Dhoni was immensely criticized on his approach while batting for being too slow. Even in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, he was slammed for ‘lack of intent’. There were also strong speculations of his retirement after the World Cup. But there was no official statement from Dhoni and he only opted out of the West Indies tour hinting at playing further international cricket. BCCI, though said that Dhoni is no longer an automatic selection in the team and the team would try to groom youngsters like Rishabh Pant for the future.

There are quite a few options coming up for the wicket keeper position with Andhra’s KS Bharat also in contention. While Pant was the only wicket-keeping option in the limited overs squad for the West Indies tour, Wriddhiman Saha, who was back from a long injury, found a place in the Test squad along with Pant.
