WATCH: Myles Garret Involved in an Ugly Brawl; Hits Opponent with Helmet

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garret was seen in one of the ugliest scenes on a football pitch. During the match against Pittsburgh Steelers, he lost his cool completely when he ripped off the opponent Quarterback Mason Rudolph’s helmet and hit him on the head with it.

The behaviour is bound to lead him to a lengthy suspension with the NFL yet to announce its decision.

“I lost my cool and I regret it,” Garrett said after the match. “It’s going to come back to hurt our team. The guys who jumped into the scrum, I appreciate my team having my back, but it never should have gotten to that point. It’s on me.”

Rudolph, who could not believe when he was hit on the head, said after the game: “I thought it was pretty cowardly and bush league. I’m not going to back down from any bully. I felt like I had a bone to pick with him. I appreciate the line always having my back, but I was angry.”

Many former and current players condemned what Garret did.

Garret’s teamamate Baker Mayfield said: “This is a physical, violent game and there’s moments if you don’t keep your cool, bad things can happen and he knows that. It’s inexcusable and he knows that. There’s no other way around it, he’s going to own up to it and he’s going to handle it and this locker room is going to have to come together because this is going to be a soap opera on the outside much like the media has portrayed us to be for the whole season.”

The incident took place towards the end of the game. It ended comprehensively in favour of the Browns with a score of 21-7, but it was overshadowed by the unwanted happening.
