Tom Holland brings out the action in the Uncharted movie
The trailer for the Uncharted movie starts off with Sully meeting Holland’s Nathan Drake at a bar. Fans of the franchise can see Drake working as a bartender, and it looks like the movie will follow their lives before the games. However, it seems like the movie might not be an actual prequel that’s canon to the video game franchise.
The trailer confirmed the long standing rumor that Mark Wahlberg’s Sully won’t sport his iconic mustache. Along with that, it also had clips of Tom Holland fighting and dropping off a cargo plane. Fanatics of the series will know that it’s reminiscent of the action scenes from the series’ third game in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Other discrepancies between the movie and the games
Along with that, fans also received their first glimpse at Chloe Frazer played by Sophia Taylor Ali. Frazer joined the series in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and she plays Drake’s love interest. However, unlike the video games, it seems like Frazer knows Wahlberg’s Sully as an ally, even though the game showed Frazer and Drake dating in the past. In the end, it seems like even though it’s an origin story, fans of the franchise will have to suffice with some major changes from the game’s lore.

The trailer mentioned the disappearance of Nathan Drake’s brother Sam, who first appeared in Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy after many believed him to be dead. Along with that, fans of the series have more news to enjoy as the franchise will finally hit PC with the release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection in early 2022.
