WATCH:- Rafael Nadal Embarrassed to Speak His Own Name at US Open

The defending semifinalist, Rafael Nadal cruised past through John Millman in straight sets in the first round of the US Open 2019 on Tuesday.

In the post-match on-court interview, Rafael Nadal talked about the ongoing Rafa Nadal Open in Mallorca, Spain. The Spaniard was very shy about saying the name of the Rafa Nadal Challenger tournament.

The interviewer asked the 18-time Grand Slam champion about the name of the event on the tennis calendar which is being contested in his home town, Mallorca, Spain, this week.

Rafael Nadal, however, got red-faced while saying the name of Rafa Nadal Open. He shyly said the name of Rafa Nadal tournament.

Former world No.1, Andy Murray is playing the challenger event in Mallorca, where he claimed his first singles victory since his hip resurfacing surgery in January.

Rafael Nadal was happy to hear about Murray playing the event as he said, “For us in the academy, is great news that he’s there, of course. I saw the court yesterday where he was playing. Was full crowded. I think is great for him, great for us.”

The Spaniard further continued, “For me personally, as I said a couple of times, happy for him. Honestly, he did a lot of things to try to be back on the court and keep playing tennis.”

“The decision to go and play a challenger is because he feels well, my feeling, the way that I see it. If you don’t feel it very well, you play a normal tour and just let’s see how it goes,” the 3-time US Open said.

The world No.2 also revealed why Andy Murray is stepping down to play an ATP challenger tournament. He said, “If one player like Andy is able to go and play a challenger is because physically he feels well and he wants to play matches.”
