WATCH: Referee Unconscious after Getting Hit Hard by a Football Player in Football C League in Munster

 In a football match of C-League Dieburg on Sunday afternoon, the referee was hit hard by one of the players. A video of the incident came out on twitter where the referee was seen getting badly punched by a player. The Echo reported that the referee was whistling in the GSV Breitenbrunn (Odenwald) for the game between the FSV Münster and the TV Semd in Munster, Germany. It was in after 85 minutes, when the score read 0-2, a 28-year-old player from the home team was shown a yellow-red card from the square. It was then that the player punched the referee in the face and the referee collapsed unconscious.
The game was stopped, the police called. By the time the police arrived, the referee was reported to have regained consciousness. However, a rescue helicopter had to be called as no medical care was possible within the vicinity. The victim was reported to have been brought to a university hospital to examine him neurologically.

The Echo also quoted a spokesperson from the Police Südhessen saying: “But I can not present any official statistics, how often we are called because of such a thing. In addition, a referee is always a respectful person,” said the spokesman. “There is a further prosecution of the event also in the public interest.”
Class teacher Theo Greiner was also reported to have expressed her shock. “This is absolutely unacceptable and of course extremely regrettable,” said the Babenhäuser. “That really affects me very much.”

It is understood that the player will be severely prosecuted for a criminal offense in a public place and might also face a massive penalty.
