The good thing about Federer is that his hard work and dedication fit perfectly with the brand image that companies are trying to build these days.

Now, Rolex has handpicked an indispensable part of Federer’s legacy to use in their newest ad campaign. Built around chasing dreams, it takes us back to the year 2009 when Federer broke the record of Pete Sampras to win the highest number of grand slams.

What Is Roger Federer Doing In The Ad?

Federer is seen sporting a Rolex watch as he narrates the emotions that went through his head during the match. This is what the Swiss star had to say –

“Reaching for your dreams is always something I tried to do. World number one, grand slams, whatever it is in life, believe that you can achieve the impossible.

“2009, it was a very very special year. I just won the French Open for the first time. And I was going into Wimbledon trying to break Sampras’ record. I make it the finals. It was just this epic match. Everybody was there, lot of legends- Bjon Borg sitting there, Rod Laver was there as well. It was just nice to feel the love from the tennis family which is very important to me.

Roger Federer revealed the particular significance that his Rolex has for him. As he wore it during his Wimbledon victory, those beautiful images reappear in his mind.

“When I finally was able to lift the trophy again, it was with this particular one, it was a beautiful feeling. Today, it’s a watch I look back and share memories with. I look at it and I see Wimbledon, I see myself holding that trophy.”

Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick in an epic finals clash at the Wimbledon in a five setter. The final scoreline read 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 6-3, 16-14 in favour of Roger Federer.
